Fairfield, AL – Once-overlooked vacant lots in Fairfield are now flourishing thanks to the Miles College Community Development Corporation's affordable housing program. The CDC has transformed these spaces into beautiful, energy-efficient homes for low-income families, helping to combat housing insecurity in the area.
Local resident James Turner, a single father of two, shared his gratitude: "This program has given us a fresh start. It’s an incredible feeling to have a place we can finally call home."
The CDC's efforts are not only providing homes but also fostering community pride and economic growth in Fairfield. By using local resources and talent for construction, the program is creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.
